Scott B Mulrooney

As Director of Undergraduate Studies for the department, my duties include scheduling of all MMG courses each year, linking instructors to each course, serve as a resource for academic advising, initiating course and degree program curricular matters, providing representation at various recruitment functions and on various College and departmental committees, and certification of graduation applications for our undergraduate majors.

Another major duty is teaching MMG 301 Introductory Microbiology during the Fall and Spring semesters, and I also teach several off-campus sections during the summer. In the past I have also done teaching for a portion of our MMG 559 Veterinary Microbiology and Immunology.

Past research interests involved using molecular biological approaches to elucidate the activation pathways and reaction mechanisms of several important enzymes, including flavoenzymes such as thioredoxin reductase and AidB, and also of metal-containing enzymes such as urease, 2-hydroxyglutarate oxidase, cytochrome b5, and allantoinase.
