**What got you interested in plants and plant science?**
Growing up in rural West Virginia and spending most of my time outdoors has caused me to have a great love for nature. After seeing firsthand how the fossil fuel industry can destroy beautiful landscapes, I vow to study the vast biochemistry of plants to keep forests wild and wonderful.

In a hammock with a good book or on a lake paddle boarding.
