Bio

We study the intersection between RNA modifications and cellular metabolism. We are interested in how these processes change in the context of normal physiology, as well as disease states such as cancer or aging.

While nearly 200 chemically distinct RNA modifications have been identified, the field is only beginning to understand their effects on RNA processing, localization, stability, and translation across biological systems.

We combine techniques from chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and bioinformatics to investigate the role of RNA modifications and modification enzymes both in vitro and in vivo.
