##Lab Doing rotations ##Research Interests Molecular biology in photosynthetic organisms ##Quick Bio **What got you interested in plants and plant science?** Growing up, my grandfather was a farmer, which gave me an early exposure to agriculture. Initially, I wasn't particularly drawn to biology, but as I delved into it, I became curious. I thought, "What if I could make my own food? Then I wouldn’t have to cook!" That curiosity led me to appreciate the fascinating world of plants and plant science. **What is your research about?** During my rotations, I'm exploring several fascinating projects. In Eva Farre's lab, I'm investigating the circadian clock of _Nannochloropsis_ algae with a focus on Aureochromes. My work in Sue Rhee's lab involves examining the trade-off between plant growth and defense, as well as chloroplast structural analysis in Tidestromia. In Federica Brandizzi's lab, I'm studying the formation of stress granules and P bodies in photosynthetic organisms. **What is the potential societal impact of your research?** My work aims to revolutionize agriculture by uncovering how plants optimize growth, stress resilience, and energy efficiency. By understanding the molecular mechanisms behind these processes, I strive to engineer crops that thrive in harsh conditions, reduce resource dependence, and sustainably boost global food and biofuel production. These breakthroughs could redefine how we tackle climate change and ensure food security, potentially transforming agriculture at a scale. **Where do you see yourself in 10 years?** While it may be ambitious, I do dream of winning a Nobel Prize someday! Even if it doesn't happen in the next 10 years, I'm committed to making significant contributions to the field. **On a Saturday afternoon, you'll likely find me:** I'm always up for an adventure, so you might catch me exploring something new and exciting. My plans are often spontaneous!
