Bio

##Lab

##Research Interests
I'm curious about metabolism, signaling mechanisms, and inter-species interactions between plants, fungi, insects, etc.

##Quick Bio
**What got you interested in plants and plant science?**
My original interest in plants was as our evolutionary predecessors and their biodiversity. I went to school in the Mississippi River Valley region of the Midwest and came to appreciate the ecology of the region first and foremost. This appreciation grew into an infatuation with plant interactions with fungi, insects, and other plants, and I became interested in the co-evolution of plants with these inter-species members. I have a newfound tenacity for biochemistry and want to learn more about plant signaling pathways in response to the abiotic and biotic environment.

**Where do you see yourself in 10 years?**
In a house of my own, sitting in front of a big window with a coffee in the morning, and reading through recently published papers. Then hopefully continuing my day as a mentor for young scientists, either in the classroom or the lab. Also hopefully wearing silly outfits full of plant iconography!

**On a Saturday afternoon, you'll likely find me:** Out with friends exploring a bookstore or park. If I'm not with friends, I'm cooped up at home watching a nostalgic movie and doodling/playing sudoku.
