###Quick Profile

**What got you interested in plants and plant science?**
I became interested in studying plants when I was a teenager. After school, I would often go on long walks in the woods near my house, and the diversity of life I saw there, especially amongst the plant kingdom, fascinated me. However, it wasn’t until I became a more in-depth student of science in my undergrad that I began to understand the positive impact I could have on the world through a career involving the study of plant molecular biology, particularly as it pertains to agriculture.

**Where do you see yourself in 10 years?**
Although I am not sure whether I will be an academic or industry scientist within the next 10 years, I know that I want to do science that helps farmers around the world to grow more plants and better plants for people.

**On a Saturday afternoon, you'll likely find me:**
outdoors reading in a hammock or hiking on a new trail.
