###Research interests
Elucidating regulatory mechanisms of plant metabolic pathways during environmental stimuli.

###Quick Profile

**What got you interested in plants and plant science?**
I became interested in plant science during my sophomore year at UW-Madison when I joined Dr. Jeffrey Endelman’s lab to assist on several potato breeding projects. There I was introduced to my first plant pathogen, Phytophthora infestans, and saw how it could devastate crop yield. This research highlighted to me the need and potential for basic research at the interface of plant specialized metabolism and agriculture, especially with the extreme environmental and societal pressures currently placed on existing agricultural systems.
