Megan E Donahue

Megan Donahue is an astrophysicist/astronomer who studies the universe outside of our own Galaxy, that is, other galaxies, the gas between these galaxies, groups and clusters of galaxies. 

Professor Donahue was named a Fellow of the American Physical Society in October 2016 for ["advanced cosmological observations and analyses of galaxy clusters, and of the relationship between the thermodynamic state of circumgalactic gas around massive galaxies, the triggering of active galactic nucleus feedback, and the regulation of star formation in galaxies"](http://www.aps.org/programs/honors/fellowships/archive-all.cfm?initial=&year=2016&unit_id=DAP&institution=Michigan+State+University) after nomination by the APS Division of Astrophysics.

Professor Donahue was [President of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) from 2018-2020, president-elect as of June 2017, and Past President until June 2021.](https://aas.org/posts/news/2017/02/results-2017-aas-election). She is a frequent advisor to NASA, ESA, NSF, and other science agencies and scientific organizations. She is currently serving as a member of the [AURA Board](https://www.aura-astronomy.org/about/) and as chair of the [Chandra X-ray Observatory Users Committee](https://cxc.harvard.edu/cdo/cuc/).
