Rebecca Linton is the Administrative Business Manager for the Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering (CMSE) at Michigan State University. She provides strategic leadership for the department’s financial and administrative operations, overseeing budget development and management, fiscal planning, human resources, academic program support, and facilities. She leads the department’s administrative support team, including fiscal, human resources, and graduate and undergraduate program coordination, and partners with the department chairperson and joint administrative units across the university to support the department’s mission and long-term goals. Her responsibilities also include resource allocation, operational planning, project management, and facilities coordination.

Rebecca brings more than 17 years of healthcare administration and management experience to MSU, with expertise in financial management, organizational leadership, process improvement, and operational strategy. She earned her Executive MBA from Michigan State University, where she focused on strategy, entrepreneurship, and international business. She combines this business background with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to managing resources, strengthening administrative processes, and supporting faculty, staff, and students in a complex academic environment.

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her two children, dog, cat, and chickens; cooking; gardening; reading; and running. She has participated in regional road races, including the Mackinac Island 8.2 and The Crim, and hopes to pursue her Master Gardener certification through MSU Extension in the near future.
