Bio
My research is in elementary particle physics primarily at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and The European Center for Nuclear Research [(CERN)](http://home.cern/). I am engaged in [elementary particle physics research](https://www.pa.msu.edu/people/brock/home_folder/graphics/gnome_pict.GIF), which is the study of the "inside of the universe", the fundamental building blocks of nature. My colleagues and I perform experiments of long duration and considerable heft at the highest energy particle accelerators in the world. I was honored to be elected as a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2000 and elected Chair of the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society for the year 2011. # Education * 1980: Ph.D., Carnegie-Mellon University
