Bio
The Steele lab is focused on interrogation of complex cellular cross talk in the tumor microenvironment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Specifically we leverage multi omics techniques such as large scale single cell RNA seq atlases, spatial transcriptomics, and spatial proteomics to uncover signaling pathways disrupted during cancer formation. We have focused in the lab on cancer associated fibroblasts and endothelial cell cross talk, tumor immunology (with a focus on adaptive immunity and exhaustion of T cells), and racial disparities in pancreatic cancer.
